Date & Time Calculators

Time does not work like ordinary numbers, because an hour has 60 minutes and months have different lengths. These calculators handle the awkward parts for you: adding and subtracting hours and minutes, counting the days between two dates, totalling a week of work hours and finding an exact age.

The Time Calculator has three modes: add up a list of times, find the time between two clock times (including overnight), and count the time between two dates with an option to skip weekends. The Time Card Calculator totals a weekly timesheet and works out gross pay, and the Age Calculator shows exact age in years, months and days.

Which calculator should I use?

Adding hours and minutes, or finding the time between two times? Use the Time Calculator.

Totalling a weekly timesheet and gross pay? Use the Time Card Calculator.

Finding someone's exact age or days until a birthday? Use the Age Calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add hours and minutes together?

Toggle answer
Add the minutes first, carry every full 60 minutes into the hours, then add the hours. For example 2h 45m + 1h 30m: 45 + 30 = 75 minutes, which is 1h 15m, so the total is 4h 15m. The Time Calculator does this on every row.

How is age calculated in years, months and days?

Toggle answer
The calculator counts full calendar years, then full months, then the remaining days between the birth date and the chosen date, allowing for different month lengths and leap years.

How do I convert minutes to decimal hours?

Toggle answer
Divide the minutes by 60 and add them to the hours. For example 4h 15m is 4 + 15 ÷ 60 = 4.25 hours. Payroll and invoices usually need this decimal form.
